Hour One AI
Branding
Hour One make virtual experiences more human by converting plain text into people-led videos. You type what you want to say, they grab your face, then you sit back and watch you do all the hard work.
After raising $25m in Series A funding, Hour One set about building an all-star team to take their brand to the next level. With the strategy Humanising The Virtual and the name already defined, I worked with Anagram Studio to create a visual identity that captured both the brand idea and the smart, cutting-edge way that their products work.
Inspired by the action of writing and rewriting the future, the identity illustrates exactly what the product does. Taking the letters and symbols of type and turning them into humanised characters – as well as anything else the imagination allows. The simple asterisk becomes the infinitely changeable and friendly face of the brand, whilst new icons can be constructed when needed based on the simple arrangement of letters from the brand font.
This blurring of worlds continues throughout the brand with expanding film portals that capture people crossing the borders of real and virtual.
